Bastille Day Sydney

Happy French National Day! (well, almost)
Sydney comes alive during Bastille Day, with the festivities this year being nothing short of fantastic. The food, the wine, the cheese, the parties, it’s all happening in Sydney. Plus, we have an exciting discount to offer you at the end of the post!

BBR Festival, Circular Quay/Customs House

From the 14th to the 17th of July, Circular Quay and Customs House will be transformed into a foodie’s delight. BBR Festival (which stands for Bleu Blanc Rouge, like the colours of the French flag) celebrates French National Day, or Bastille Day. Activities include the ‘Tour de France’ cooking masterclasses, where you can learn to cook traditional French dishes, led by French chefs, the European Gourmet Market, the BBR Wine Market, a Bastille Day party, free live concerts, and a Canadian Snow Island. Check out www.bbrfestival.com.au for more info!

Bistro Moncur, Woollahra

Bistro Moncur is offering a spectacular 5-course meal for $220 on Bastille Day, complete with matching wines. The meal is curated by Guillaume Brahimi, one of Australia’s most popular and acclaimed chefs. Hurry, tickets will run out pretty soon!

Missy French, Potts Point

Neil Perry’s daughter, Josephine Perry, is no stranger to French cuisine. The young Perry has followed in her famous father’s footsteps (wow, alliteration!) and opened up a restaurant of her own, Missy French, in Potts Point. For Bastille Day, they’ve gone all out: A 5-course meal for $85, with each dish inspired by French cuisine. Check out www.missyfrench.com.au for more info.

French Touch Bistro, Surry Hills

With four different events spread over four days, French Touch Bistro has definitely decided to go all out this Bastille Day! Starting off with a Bastille Day Dinner on the 14th, followed by a Tartiflette (a dish made with potatoes, imported French reblochon cheese, bacon and onions) Dinner on the 15th, then a Bubbly Brunch on the 16th and 17th, and ending with a French Bowls Tournament on the 17th in the afternoon.
